Key Responsibilities


  • Research & Development – Research vintage and current market product as inspiration for basics and concept specific denim design; Collect vintage washes, tears and garments to be handed off to wash team for development; Work with fabric team and mills to source relevant fabrics in accordance with direction from senior design management; Research vintage markets, retail and collect tear sheets for fit ideas and development.
  • Boards & Stats –Seasonally create and update boards and stats and ensure that all relevant design materials stay with boards
  • Tech Packs – create and ensure all design components, fabric, graphic and design details are correctly identified within the tech pack. Knowledge of woven bottoms, outerwear, dresses and skirt construction is important.
  • Trims- Research trims based on Concept direction and hand off to trim department. Work with trim development to collect IC’s for labels, trims, artwork and input into tech packs.
  • Flats & Sketches- Work with Design Director to ensure that all flat sketches are created, with attention to detail to interior and exterior, and keep updated as changes occur.
  • Threads- Assist Design Director in the selection of all thread weights, spi and colors and are inputted into tech pack
  • Prep for Tech Pack handoff- Work in conjunction with Design Director/Designer to prepare tech packs for hand off and making sure to have all relevant information; sketches, mock-ups and/or garments to give to Technical Design.
  • Fittings- Participate in weekly fittings to help direct the desired fit.
  • Updates- Assist Design Director in ensuring that all design updates and changes are made in a timely manner
  • Attend and prepare for weekly meetings - Assist Director/Designer in preparation for weekly design meetings with Sr. Management and attend WIPS and Development meetings and update necessary changes.
  • Organization Skills –Ensure that all seasonal records are kept and organized with relevant design history, wash comments, trim submits and approvals, tech packs, artwork, photographs of vintage  etc.
  • Track Vintage- Track location of Vintage garments at all times and ensure that garments are returned in the proper time frame.
  • Archive- Create and archive all illustrations and or flats by season.



  • Design education a must.  Preferably Bachelor Degree in design.
  • Strong Design skills and ability to communicate ideas Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • High level of computer proficiency – illustrator, Photoshop and Web PDM
  • Able to work well with others and build a solid, positive work environment
