Job Details

The Associate Technical Designer will control the flow of samples and style information for knitwear from development to pre-production.

Responsibilities:

  • Measure incoming garments against requested specs
  • Issue RFD tickets for proto/show/fit samples and ensure development deadlines are met
  • Prioritize proto making based on material availability and review all development order quantities are adequate for SMS development
  • Assist technical designer in development and preproduction fittings (note taking, pictures, preparation of materials and samples, etc.)
  • Manage sketch accuracy and communicate required adjustments to design
  • Prepare and send overseas package with corrections
  • Maintain consistency and accuracy of style information in DeSL and line planning/line sheet tools
  • Collaborate with marketing team to manage accuracy of visual and marketing tools
  • Assist with product presentations related to style fit and construction.
  • Follow post market outstanding development
  • Daily communication with factory overseas, and collaboration with designers, materials team, production, and merchandising
  • Other responsibilities according to department needs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design or related field
  • 2-3 years of technical design experience (sweater specific)
  • General knowledge of knit construction, yarn, gauges, stitches, etc.
  • Understanding of pattern, drape, and garment measurements
  • Checks for accuracy and possesses strong attention to detail skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of DeSL, Blue Cherry a plus
  • Must be organized and flexible with the ability to handle multiple priorities at once
  • Must be a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to self-manage and take initiative
  • Fashion/luxury brand experience is preferred
