  • Analyze & track weekly sales performance by region, by style; identify any trends, misses, opportunities by region and present to Manager & Head of Buying in weekly selling meetings.

  • Partner with planning to drive in season business & action needs based on selling data. Apply in season learnings to build strategies for future seasons.

  • Communicate selling by region to merchandising & design on a monthly basis, lead discussion around opportunities and current trends in business; specifically by product category.

  • Gather market specific needs regional selling & store feedback. Provide product specific selling results to merchandising within quarterly hindsight and buying brief.

  • Assort by region, ensuring regional specific needs are covered. Ensure assortment and rank tie to strategy and support financial objectives. Present to Manager & Head of Buying.

  • Enter buys into buying tool and review rolls/buckets with planning.

  • Review product & assortment on a monthly basis. Re-access investment based on OTB shifts/needs. Enter buys into GFE.

  • Create style list of product to send to CFT to help support the buy into promotional product based on calendar as set forth in brief.

  • Manage receipt reconciliation & PO shifts.

  • Review OTB with planning, identify & communicate any necessary product related action to appropriate teams; identify any action with Manager &Head of Buying and cascade appropriately.

  • Pass-off line & buying strategy to visual, marketing, and creative teams to ensure execution by region/channel.

  • Understanding of promo calendar; buy into promotional product based on calendar as set forth in brief. Partner with planning to approve markdowns.

  • Ensure regional strategy and store level strategy are being executed by allocation partners.

  • Manage site merchandising and ensure all categories are executed by merch coordinators.

  • Visit stores on a weekly/bi-weekly basis to understand regional needs & develop relationships with store employees.

  • Work closely with visual partners to ensure in-season showrooms are being executed to reflect regional buy & current business needs. Communicate any shifts in strategy and promotional needs by month to visual & creative partners. 

  • Partners with Manager to balance workloads and priorities; solicits decision support when needed

  • Shop the competition regularly to understand trends, pricing, and promotional activity.

  • Effectively manages and supports the career development of direct reports to ensure job satisfaction, retention and to identify and develop bench strength

  • Establishes cross-functional relationships to promote best practices and process adherence; fosters teamwork


·         Bachelors degree required

·         At least three years experience as a Merchant or Buyer or equivalent required

·         At least one years of supervisory experience required

·         At least three years of retail buying, merchandising or equivalent experience desired

·         Computer proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Outlook, Word

·         Strong numerical and analytical skills

·         Previous management experience demonstrating strong leadership, team development and strong cross functional relationships

·         An understanding of the fashion garment production process

·         Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment

·         Excellent English communication skills - verbal and written

·         Excellent time management/project skills

·         Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail

·         Ability to recognize and react to changing work demands

·         Comfortable and confident in making effective autonomous (and group) decisions in a timely manner
