Purpose and Scope: 

The Director of Wholesale Marketing is a key leadership role within the Lauren Ralph Lauren division, a vertical in the larger North America wholesale channel. You will work closely with the Senior Director and the executive team to establish seasonal marketing strategies and drive implementation across all consumer channels for both the Lauren Ralph Lauren brand.


With support from of two omni-channel Marketing Associates, this role will take the lead on execution of all related activations and will be responsible for reporting campaign learnings, successes and key metrics – ultimately making thoughtful and strategic recommendations on how to best impact future seasons to drive sales, broaden brand awareness and ultimately grow the business.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Wholesale Marketing and manages two Marketing Associates.

Key Responsibilities:  
  • Build brand desirability & develop marketing strategies to support the business goals of our wholesale channels, specifically department stores

  • Position focuses primarily on the brand building & marketing efforts to support growth of Lauren Ralph Lauren Sportswear, Dresses, Handbags, Footwear & Accessories categories.

  • Support Senior Director on the alignment of strategic marketing campaigns and lead omnichannel activations as determined by need for each category; projects and initiatives includes:

    • Direct Mail

    • In-Store Collateral

    • Advertising

    • Asset Creation

  • Digital Marketing
  • Events
  • Act as the lead contact with internal and external teams in the development, execution and communication of marketing materials to support all wholesale marketing needs:
    • Clearly write strategic creative briefs
    • Manage budgets and timelines
    • Collaborate with wholesale accounts, sales teams, RL Advertising, RL Wholesale Digital & Ecommerce, Creative Services, Retail Development & CIEM to successfully complete initiatives
  • Advocate for a test and learn philosophy to apply learnings to future programs
  • Drive alignment and communication across teams to achieve Wholesale Marketing goals
  • Continuously develop and utilize a proficient knowledge of the apparel industry and competitive landscape
  • Proactively seek marketing insights and consumer trends – have a POV on implementation and how to establish best practices
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for a variety of audiences, including executive management
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to two Marketing Associates

  • 7+ years of experience in a multi-channel marketing role
  • Demonstrated ability to lead successful campaigns, from strategic development to implementation and analysis
  • Ability to identify and develop relationships with key internal and external partners
  • Desire to develop talent and foster growth among junior team members
  • Ability to solve problems fairly, utilizing creative thinking
  • Strong analytical, project management and communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and focused
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree from 4-year accredited college or university
