The General Merchandising Manager, Omni Channel (retail & ecommerce) is responsible for setting the strategic direction and the execution of product assortment, price, margin and promotions for each season and all categories to support Tommy Bahama sales and gross-margin objectives.  The GMM-Omni will coordinate and drive the execution of the strategic development of the assortment for Men’s, Women’s and Home for retail and e-commerce channels.  



  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create a cohesive, well-priced collection in order to hit sales and merchandising deliverables for stores and e-commerce. Direct and approve all seasonal line plans and pricing strategies for all product categories and ensure on time delivery.
  • Understand marketplace trends and competitive landscape in collaboration with design and channel leadership to shape assortment needs for all of Tommy Bahama’s business channels.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all areas of the business to ensure that strategies, goals and direction are understood.
  • Collaborate with VP of Sourcing & Production on product margin, flow strategies, quick response and testing initiatives.   
  • Lead, direct and develop merchandise buying teams from concept to final assortment stages.
  • Work with Omni executives on development of annual/seasonal sales and margin objectives and ensure that line plans reflect appropriate targets. 
  • Work with omni-planning in the development of category sales and inventory plans to ensure that receipts are targeted to achieve sales opportunities and objectives.
  • Approve seasonal buys for Direct to Guest (DTG) and sign off on floorset execution for each delivery. Determine floorset dates and coordinate ecom publish dates to support business/product strategies. 
  • Work with DMM’s on a daily basis in developing category business plans, assessing assortment needs, approving buys, reacting to current business and overall strategy execution.
  • Act as a key partner with marketing, creative and visual merchandising teams to ensure a consistent customer experience through both stores and e-commerce. Develop seasonal marketing/product strategies along with the development of the annual marketing/promotional calendar. 
  • Work with Wholesale teams to ensure that wholesale assortment, pricing, margin needs are reflected in the line plans. Direct line plan development for off-price assortment to support Wholesale discounters as well as Tommy Bahama Outlet.
  • Signoff on assortment status through each of the key milestone meetings, specifically initial proto review and adoption meetings.
  • Reach annual performance targets on sales, margin, turns and service level.
  • Work with Sr. Director of E-commerce and Director of Online Merchandising to support online marketing, email development, assortment strategies and overall seasonal strategy execution.
  • Collaborate with retail visual presentation teams on all visual elements including floorsets, styling, signage and windows to support seasonal strategy execution. 



  • Requires a Bachelor Degree is Fashion Merchandising, Business or equivalent experience.
  • Generally, 10+ years retail merchandising/buying experience, preferably in specialty retail with multi layer business model (men’s, women’s, swim, licensing).
  • Knowledge of production flow and factory operations.
  • Requires experience managing a team of 10 or more.
  • Requires P & L, budgeting, inventory turn, and gross margin experience.
  • Experience developing systems/processes that will help Tommy Bahama reduce cost and maximize return on investment.
  • Proficient in Word, Outlook, Excel and other systems and business tools needed to manage a growing business.
