The Merchandise Assistant will be responsible for maintaining an accurate system and manual on order, which tie to monthly forecasts, class plans and/or buy plans.



Primary Responsibilities

·         Coordinate all aspects of purchase order management: item definition, coding, PO Entry, PO revisions, on-order reconciliation, EDI, and drop shipment.

·         Lead the weekly On-Order Meeting, communicating all shipping changes to the merchant team.

·         Track all shipments to the Distribution Center.

·         Communicate regularly and consistently with the DC regarding PO issues.

·         Organize and manage all sample product.

·         General clerical and data entry work.









Required Skills/Qualities:

·         Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

·         Computer proficiency: Word and Excel.

·         Highly organized, detail oriented and accurate.


Stretch Skills:

·         Recommend growth opportunities and key item strategies to the Buyer that are adopted into the assortment plan.

·         Complete general analysis: markdowns, Quarterly Strategy Sheets, color and size selling, style analysis and promotional events.

·         Create and update assortment sheets.

·         Establish and grow a strong level of communication and partnership with storeline regarding markdowns and re-ticketing
