Purpose/Scope: The Merchandise Planner  is responsible for facilitating business growth through analysis of current selling and future planning of the merchandise assortment.  Sales analysis will be utilized to identify business opportunities, risks and initiatives  Collaboration with sales, account planning and Global merchandising, is  key to driving the correct assortment for US wholesale. The successful candidate will have an eye for retail product trend and an ability to quickly apply trend to effective assortment and financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Actively participate in the assortment planning process
  • Work closely with Merchandising, Planning and Sales to identify sales opportunities through effective strategic planning
  • Develop actionable merchandise plans that contribute to the strategic objectives of the brand
  • Ensure core, seasonal essentials  and fashion are balanced by tier of door
  • Build seasonal strategies for classifications, product mix, pricing, tiers and climates
  • Report on the analytics and anticipated financial results behind key strategies
  • Ensure integrity of data and conclusions presented to internal team members
  • Partner cross functionally to understand business needs & challenges
  • Develop and provide appropriate business analysis to influence future purchases and assortment strategies
  • Collaborate with counterparts to develop and establish brand and company best practices in merchandise planning

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field required
  • 2+ years merchandising, planning, buying or equivalent experience preferred
  • Clear knowledge of target customer and product trends
  • Analytically driven with ability to make fact-based decisions
  • Effective time management skills and strict adherence to deadlines and calendar requirements
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a sense of ownership and an ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Strong ability to work and adapt to new systems
  • Detail oriented with high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and multi-tasking skills
  • Team-oriented
  • Organized & excellent follow up skills
