Scope of Role/ Responsibilities:

Include but not limited to:
Product design 
• Work with senior design team to create product that fits the design brief and is brand appropriate.
• Create presentation boards and research boards for meetings with senior design team.
• Run design meetings, manage updates and line lists post meetings.
• Hand/Computer sketch design ideas to present to senior design and Merchandising.
• Be pro active in finding new research, contemporary or vintage, actual or tears
• Have a flexible design style, able to comfortably work on a diverse range of RW product types; rugged to preppy, modern to techie.
• Design and develop washes
• Work with Fabric/trim teams to developments new and innovative items.
• Manage fabric and trim H/O’s,
• Adhere to corporate calendar timing.
• Coach, manage and provide leadership for juniors.
• Manage all phases of garment design and definition, from design to in store, inc; fittings and sample production oversight overseas.
• Product development
• Translate sketches and ideas into computer technical sketches.
• Create drawn package for factories to work from, also 3D mock ups.
• Work with Product Development teams who are responsible for communicating with overseas sourcing offices and factories
• Participate in fittings, proto revisions and all relevant updates required.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
Merchandising and Line Editing
 • Work with merchandising team to develop a balanced line that includes product that fills design and merchandising requirements.
• Collaborate with team to keep ahead of business requirements.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
• Be able to speak to product, and keep open communication, with all cross functional partners.
• Be able to communicate with senior design team, about new found inspiration, product direction, industry trends and performance objectives of each designed product.
• Create agendas for touch base meetings with Manager to review design, trends, developments, approvals and status.
• Assist with special projects as needed.


  • Must have a degree in Fashion Design or a related subject
  • Minimum 3 years Industry experience in RW Design.
  • Knowledge and interest in historical & vintage garments is essential.
  • Some knowledge of technical garments is required.
  • Experienced with Illustrator, Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of performance and technical pattern making, garment construction, fit and execution.
  • Ability to select and develop fabrics and trims applicable to the product
  • Knowledge of product Development, Merchandising and Product Management
  • Able to work well with others to build a solid, positive work environment and be extremely organized.
