We are currently seeking a General Manager for our flagship retail store in Columbus, Ohio. This is a full time position. As our store manager your mission will be to support all programs and initiatives focused on generating a positive, measurable change in behavior among managers and sales associates in order to enhance the customer experience, increase customer loyalty, and impact sales.


Core Accountabilities:

• Lead the service culture by setting the tone on the sales floor by creating a warm, friendly, and welcoming environment for our customers

• Initiative with the primary focus on relationship building, achieve an overall measurable improvement in this category through customer tracking and client development

• Take care of our customers, use common sense and creativity to solve customer problems in a prompt, professional, and appropriate manner to ensure customer satisfaction and retention

• Proactively retain and develop top customers, potential top customers, and new customers

• Improve sales associate selling performance by setting goals and measuring results

• Build a personal relationship with the most important customers of the store

• Provide daily reports to upper management with sales, goals, inventory, store issues or concerns and sales associate daily performance

• Develop and maintain a positive company image by consistently posting engaging content that promotes brand awareness

• Responsible for creating time sheets with employee schedules, tasks, & daily breaks

• Manage customer escalations by providing a positive experience via in-store, telephone, or email

• Implement store policies, in addition to employee rules and regulations

• Supervise sales floor and store associates

• Facilitate daily meetings with staff to ensure target goals for the company are met

• Assist upper manager with new employee recruitment and hiring

• Continue to challenge your staff against the standards of our Customer Experience

• Proactively motivate and recognize your staff through the support of corporate initiated programs and creative ideas you implement at the store level


Profitability:

• Attain sales and profitability goals for the store through effective and strategic planning in regard to customer experience development, sales achievement, expense control and management, inventory control and management, merchandise planning and assortment

• Actively participates in the review and delivery of all customer experience programs in an effort to achieve goals

• Analyzes sales performance and strategies to maximize opportunity and improve overall performance

• Works directly with Upper Management to ensure all expenses are allocated efficiently and within budget

• Consistently communicates with the buyer regarding inventory levels and merchandise needs

• Serves as an effective and creative participant in coordinating and executing special events to maximize results


Operations:

• Maintains standards for the entire store in all aspects of operations including; loss prevention/shortage control, visual presentation, human resources, shipping and receiving merchandise

• Ensures that the Human Resources functions (employee relations, recruitment, selection, and training) are effectively administered

• Ensures that the operational functions of the store (expense, budgets, building maintenance, merchandise handling, alterations, and sales audit) are carried out

• Ensures that the Loss Prevention functions are effectively performed so that assets are protected and physical inventory shortage is minimized


Leadership:

• Assumes leadership and development role through effective total store communication, awareness of morale, staff development, and implementation of selling priorities

• Facilitates the coordination of all store activities and events

• Builds and nurtures a welcoming community environment in the store

• Builds cooperation within the management team as well as staff/ management relations

• Communicates and champions initiatives

• Implements business plans to achieve desired results


The Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Demonstrable, extensive people management experience within retail operations, budgeting, planning, customer service, sales and people leadership and management

• Excellent communicator and creative problem solver

• Well organized with the ability to be flexible based on the needs of the business

• Strong analytical skills

• Strong attention to personal brand, both in-store and out of the store

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products and retail business systems

• Ability to utilize tools to support conflict resolution and employee coaching and counseling

• Assist upper manager with new employee recruitment and hiring

• Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed


Education and/or Experience

• Minimum of 5 years retail management experience
